Who We Are

The struggle for housing is supported by movements across Brazil. Collectively, members of these movements recognize the need for proven housing solutions via self-management and thus have crafted a draft bill through democratic and participatory processes to establish a self-management law. This law works to legitimize the three pillars of self management:

(1) autogestão via mutirão by social movements, associations, and cooperatives;

(2) financial and programmatic support from the government; and

(3) technical expertise through social architecture firms.
